(For specific dates for this year's events, please visit our Calendar of Events page.) Ladies Spring Luncheon - A gourmet luncheon featuring a different guest speaker each year. All ladies are welcome. Guests of the church and friends are invited to attend free of charge. Fall Ladies Retreat - A weekend retreat where ladies from all walks of life are invited to participate in Bible Study, fellowship and overall spiritual and physical renewal. The weekend features a guest speaker and usually takes place from Friday evening to Sunday morning.
Bible Study: Provides women with a planned study of God’s Word while at the same time fostering an atmosphere conducive for developing Christian fellowship and purpose within the church body. (“But the goal of our instruction is love.” I Timothy 1:5 ) For details on the current study, click HERE. Emergency Prayer Chain: Uplifts and supports one another in prayer when an emergency arises. (“Draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16) Encouragement: Encourages individuals, as the Holy Spirit directs, through prayer, fellowship, compassionate support, correspondence, and personal contact. (“Therefore encourage one another and build up one another.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11,14) Friendship Luncheon: A special event to reach out and invite our women friends, neighbors, and family to a beautiful luncheon to hear a special speaker with the gospel message. (“In all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds.” Titus 2:7) Hospitality: Arranges social gatherings for the celebration of special events in the lives of the women of the church such as wedding and baby showers, a Christmas event, spring teas in various homes, attending plays or conferences, bike rides, or meeting for lunch with the goal of fellowship in smaller groups. (“When you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed.” Luke 14:12-14) Publicity: Publicizes events for the women such as church bulletin announcements, Cornerstone newsletter articles, posters, computer-generated presentations, and film. (“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things.” Romans 10:15) Retreat: The ladies retreat is a time to interact with sisters in Christ and be refreshed by the Holy Spirit. ("Satisfy the weary ones and refresh everyone who languishes." Jeremiah 31:25) Share-A-Meal: Offers meals to individuals and families of the church in emergency situations such as major surgery, chronic or debilitating illness, funerals, and newborn babies to express real caring to the members of the church body and give practical help. (“Engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.” Titus 3:14) Welcoming: Contacts new members and attendees to welcome and acquaint them with the church family, offer assistance as needed, and to inform them about areas of interest. (By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35) Wrapped in Love: Blankets and shawls are given to show encouragement and love to those who are going through emotional and physical difficulties. While making the blankets and shawls, the women pray for the person who receives them. (“Prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men.” 1 Timothy 2:1) If you would like to get involved in any of the above service ministries, please contact our Women's Ministry Coordinator, Cheryl Sandlin, through the church office.
