Fall Ladies Retreat

Although we have traditionally attended the retreat center in Roundtop, we now hold our retreats in different locations.

. Preparation

The annual fall retreat has been a favorite of SLBC women for many years.  With preparations beginning almost as soon as the previous retreat has ended, the work of many dedicated people make this an absolutely amazing weekend!

First, the speaker and the topical material are carefully selected for the year.  Then, several committees prepare in advance for the event.  Activities, entertainment (skits and fun stuff), study materials, carpools, room arrangements, and many more aspects of the weekend are set up and organized by diligent workers.

When the ladies and guests arrive at the retreat, they need only to rest, relax, and be ministered to!

Activities/Schedule

Friday Night: Friday evening, guests will arrive at the retreat facility, register, pick up their materials, and get settled into their rooms.  Later in the evening, a kickoff seminar with our guest speaker is followed by games and late night chats.

Saturday: Saturday morning, ladies arrive refreshed (or exhausted from late-night socializing) for one or two more seminars, followed by a boxed or catered lunch.  After lunch, ladies can take advantage of at least 4-5 hours of scheduled "free time."

Ladies are encouraged to do whatever they most enjoy during the free time, including local sight seeing, retreat center activities, hobbies, visiting with each other, exercising, or just simply getting some much needed rest.

Saturday night, one more seminar is usually followed by a special time of spiritual reflection, and some skillfully prepared entertainment gigs!  Among the list of past favorites have been: evening vespers, "talent" shows - with all kinds of truly odd performances from our ladies - movies, and video comedy routines from favorites such as Chonda Pierce.

Sunday: Sunday morning includes catered breakfast, a final follow-up seminar, and then the trek back to reality.

 Dates to be announced.
